Creating with porcelain
My choice of porcelain stems from a deep respect for Chinese heritage.
My approach is one of transmission: perpetuating the tradition of white porcelain while confronting it with contemporary sculptural expression. Kaolin is, for me, a bridge between cultures, a material whose purity I seek to sublimate through the rigor of high-temperature firings.
It is in this spirit that I maintain a constant dialogue with Chinese masters, notably through my regular residencies (Dehua, Shangyu, Jingdezhen). From East to West, this work of exchange and technical development nourishes my creations, where organic forms—corals and flowers—evoke both the resilience of life and the memory of maritime voyages.
BIOGRAPHY
- Originally from the Gard, born in 1967. Live and work in Sabran (France).
- Florence Corbi is a member of Ateliers d'Art de France and a member of the International Academy of Ceramics.
